Golf in Central Virginia
Monday, January 21, 2008 at 02:41PM
Golf in central Virginia has been on the upswing lately. Within the last four years the openings of courses such as Mattaponi Springs in Ruther Glen, Colonial Heritage in Williamsburg, Poplar Grove in Amherst and The Federal Club in Montpelier have added excitement to an area whose golf offerings were in need of resuscitation.
Now, suddenly, there is good golf around every corner. And people are beginning to take notice. Spring Creek in Gordonsville has been named best new course under $75 by Golf Digest, and The Manor in Farmville was ranked number four in the same category. Both of these tracks are worth every penny and one would be hard pressed to find two better contemporary course in the Mid-Atlantic.
