It's a lousy time to be in the magazine business. Actually, it's a lousy time to be in most any business.
My favorite non-golf publication, Garden and Gun, recently announced that in an effort to improve its position heading into 2010 they are skipping an issue. While this news is disappointing, anyone who has read an issue of the magazine should support any measure taken to insure its future. With contributing writers such as Rick Bragg, Clyde Edgerton and Roy Blount, Jr, every issue entertains, enlightens and sheds new light on the quirky and wonderful life in the New South.
Anyone, and I do mean anyone, who appreciates good food, country life, southern sanctuaries or good writing should support this magazine. Do yourself a favor, subscribe to Garden and Gun.
