Ryder Cup

Well, my interest in pro golf has waned considerably over the last few months. For my money the most interesting event over the last three months was the US Women's Open at Oakmont. The boys, since McIlroy's win at Quail Hollow in May, have been a drag. Despite the venues of the major championship, which aside from Whistling Straits were fantastic, the tournaments just did not hold my attention. Actually, my two favorite moments of the last three months were the Dustin debacle at the PGA and the reaction to the redo at Cog Hill. Both illustrated how ridiculous the designs of those "modern" courses have become and how far removed the pro game is from the game of golf.

But, it is Ryder Cup time. I'm trying to get ramped up. I've got a ways to go, but I'm trying. There will certainly be some drama, some exciting shots and, apparently, some rain. Coverage starts at 2:30 am here in Va.
